Follow Faith ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app.
We do not collect or retain personally identifying information that could be used to contact or identify you in the real world. Specifically, we do not store your name, email address, phone number, or profile photo. Even though Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In transmit these fields during authentication, we automatically discard them and never write them to our database. Your account is identified solely by an anonymous, randomly generated UUID.
Account Identifier: When you sign in, we store an anonymous UUID for your account and a provider-specific identifier (an opaque token issued by Apple or Google) so we can recognize you on subsequent sign-ins. We do not store your name, email, phone number, or profile photo. Any such fields received from Apple or Google during sign-in are immediately discarded server-side and never persisted.
Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, OneSignal issues a device token used solely to deliver notifications. This token is not linked to your name or email.
App Data: Content you save as favorites, notification preferences, and feed preferences (profiles you follow). All of this is associated with your anonymous UUID, never with personal contact information.
We use the limited information we collect to:
Because we do not retain your name or email, we have no ability to contact you directly, market to you, or identify you outside the app.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (cloud-hosted PostgreSQL with encryption at rest and in transit via HTTPS/TLS). Authentication is handled by Sign in with Apple (iOS) or Google Sign-In (Android); identifying fields received during sign-in are stripped server-side before persistence. Push notifications are delivered via OneSignal.
Supabase — stores your account information, favorites, and preferences. Privacy Policy.
OneSignal — delivers push notifications. Collects device tokens and usage data. Privacy Policy.
YouTube API Services — Follow Faith uses YouTube API Services to retrieve video metadata from public YouTube channels. The app also displays embedded YouTube videos via YouTube's iframe player. When you watch videos, YouTube may collect usage data per Google's Privacy Policy. By using Follow Faith, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You can manage Google security settings at Google Security Settings.
Apple Sign In / Google Sign-In — used for authentication. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, trade, or rent any of your information to third parties. Because we do not retain personally identifying contact information in the first place, we have nothing of that nature to share. We exchange the minimum data necessary with service providers (Supabase, OneSignal) to operate the app, or as required by law.
A note on data export requests: Because we do not retain your name, email, or any other contact-grade identifier, we have no way to verify that a given person owns a given anonymous UUID. As a result, we cannot service email-based data export requests — doing so would require us to start collecting the very identifiers we have committed not to retain. All access to your data must therefore happen from within the app while you are signed in.
Follow Faith is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete that information promptly.
We retain your anonymous account UUID and associated app data (favorites, preferences) for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 24 hours. Anonymous usage logs are retained for up to 90 days. Aggregated analytics without personal identifiers may be retained indefinitely. Any name, email, or phone fields received transiently during sign-in are discarded immediately and never retained.
Follow Faith is hosted in the United States. If you access the app from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date and posting the new policy in the app. Your continued use of Follow Faith after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at followfaithapp@gmail.com.
