About Me

My lifelong love of technology and gadgets has translated into my passion for creative, innovative iOS development. I find it incredibly gratifying to bring an idea to life through code: managing and refining details until designs are pixel-perfect, bugs are squashed, and code is optimally refactored, so that the product not only functions well, but also possesses an aesthetic identity. I enjoy learning and solving problems collaboratively, creating meaningful connections with teammates and coworkers at all levels. Creating and maintaining forward momentum and seeing day-over-day progress keeps me motivated and drives me to continue to exceed my own expectations.

Projects

Let me level with you. The web stuff is not really my latest work, seeing that I am currently a mobile dev. However, NannerScanner represents some of my recent work. There are still some passion and learning projects that I chip away at some nights, but I find that for me to do my best work, I focus on work at work and home at home.

NannerScanner

This originated as an assistive app for individuals with color vision impairment, identifying optimal banana ripeness by discerning hues of green and yellow. Users of all abilities can train the app to recognize their preferred banana by entering feedback, through a custom-trained model from CreateML and integrated via CoreML. App idea by Aaron Tenbuuren, with app design by Eddy Gann.

CodeSnippt

A collaborative site for users of all abilities enabling code snippet sharing with the world. Users are able to save their own snippets and determine if they are publicly searchable or entirely private. Site accommodates snippets from many popular languages, maintaining personal notes regarding lessons learned. This app has a Javascript, jQuery and Bootstrap front-end with a Ruby on Rails back-end as well as full test coverage.

Critic Rank

This Facebook app uses Rails, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, and API integration to allow users to compare their movie preferences against professional movie critics, and see how they rank against their friends. After Facebook authentication via Facebook's Graph API, all of a user's 'Liked' movies are retrieved. Those movies are then searched on IMDb to get critic ratings, which are averaged to come up with a ‘personal critic rating’ for the user. Choosing to share results allows users to see how their movie tastes stack up against their friends, whether its RomComs or Space Operas!
